Nice project you're building Eric. Contrary to common thought, Al Penrose, in Canada, built several 1/32 slot cars with the guide post behind the front axle rather than in front. I once questioned him about their handling & he told me they did not present any problems.

    UPDATE
Had some time today to work on the Monaco. I am having trouble finding a picture of a Dodge Monaco , that was once a racer. I doubt if there was such a car. If anybody has any leads, please pass them on to me.
The chassis fits nice, however, I think I may have the front axle just a shade too forward. Hopefully, it won't be noticed when I hog out the fenders. I put 17X8'S on the car , to see how it would fit and look, and really liked the look stock. Now I'm thinking , I need to do another one in stock form. Down the hole I go. Just dropped another Monaco body in alcohol MORE TO COME

Looks good, it’s fun to build up your own cars!

With “more-door” to “two-door” conversions, remember the drivers door on a two-door is *longer* than a drivers door on a four-door car.

What kind of race car are you going to build - are you after an an oval tracker, like an entry level street stocker or blunderbust type car ?

Thank you for the compliment. I am building this car for future summer slam sportsman series oval track (If Harry will allow it)
I doubt it will perform like most of the other cars I see on the forum. I am mainly looking for success on my first brass chassis car completed. As for the door size, I am gonna go with what I have. It should be interesting to see how it turns out.
My challenge, is gonna be setting the guide height correctly. I am sure I will be back on here for advice.

I was able to get back on the Monaco today. I "hawged out" the fenders, and got my body supports in. I may actually finish this car!!!
