Cars were delivered today .
I am aware there are minor repairs required for some broken guides which i will print replacements.
i will follow up with an update on the status of all the cars.
it may be a couple weeks before i can run this leg of the proxy.
Work has me in and out of Michigan and I need to build up some rubber on the track after the move from Los Angeles to Indianapolis.

I recently dug a damaged Fly 908-3 out, drew up a 3D SW chassis for it and its a lovely car to drive, its time I got this 3D 908-3 body married to this same chassis for next years 908-3 3D proxy.Kevan - Isle of Man

All ,
Replaced the guide on Racer1h car with a 3D print.
Chappyman66 , Would you like for me to attempt a repair of the guide ring. Possibly Super Glue or epoxy ?
My vote is to try and allow everyone to finish all rounds.
I have a question on the number 23 car of OXO .
The wheel adjacent to spur gear is backed out and appears to lightly rub the body arch.
How would you want to proceed ?
I completed some minor repairs to the track from the move.
Saturday's plan is for me to run one of my cars with urethane tires to bring the track back to life.
Sunday to race.
any questions please ask.
Mike

I would vote to fix OXO's wheel (probably a loose set screw). If you want to try and fix my car, that's up to you but it's not needed; I made the mistake on the chassis.
By all means, enjoy them!Come Race at The Trace!

Track is built on a 4 x 8 foot table. 1/2 inch particle board and 1/4 inch deep slot.
The plan to run on the outside lane (33ft) since it offers better flow.
I don't have any segment marking on the track so the plan is to run a fixed number of laps for all cars and position will be based on time.
Today we will run some of my cars to rubber the track and establish a base line for the laps. Forecast is for a raining weekend.
The rear wheels on the OXO car have no exposed set screw.
wheels appear to be pressed fit and secured with adhesive/epoxy.
I could loosed the spur gear and then compress with both wheels inward.
The tire is also rubbing the body so performance will be compromised as it is.
I will await instruction from owner.
thank you,
Mike

Ran qualifying this morning.
Each car ran a 3 minute heat. At the end of three minutes, the car completed the current lap. In the case of a tie , the lower total time determined the position.
54 - Doc Reinecke : Doc's was without question the smoothest and easiest to drive. Experienced no wheel chatter and instantly was able get into into a pattern with the controller.
59 - Racer 1H : Another car that was easy to drive. the backend of the car wanted to kick out on the curves. Car did not de-slot .
23 - OXO cube : Easy to drive , same with the backend wanting to kickout on the curves. car did not de-slot.
97 - Barc-1: Stayed in the slot but experienced wheel chatter.
17 - MikeSoCal Ran smooth, some wheel chatter on S curve .
66 - chappymaN66 Car was smooth with no chatter but wanted to wag it's tail on the hairpin and S curve.
24- C. Wright Car has strong braking action probably linked to the direct drive. Car tended to surge with change in throttle.

Great qualifying. Looks like the final is going to be tight at the top.
I know my tires are shot, so no surprise there.Come Race at The Trace!

Round 5 has been completed.
All 7 cars were able to finish the race with the race running for 6 minutes for each heat.
This track is the smallest of the group running on a 4x8 foot table and the longest back straight is maybe 4 feet.
All cars had the wheels cleaned with scotch blue painters tape prior to the start of each heat .
A new application of tape was used to clean the tires for each car.

Tracking was predictable. 3 #97 Barc1 65 5.501 5.266 Wheel chatter faded about 4 minutes into the race, able to gain speed. Good tracking. 4 #34 C. Car drove the 6 minutes.
Thank You ,

Mike,
Thanks for wrapping the series! A great race on a tight twisty track, I am not surprised that you and BARC finished high...the big motors are overpowered for the short straights. I had some of the same issues on my track too. Nicely done.
And Doc finishes on the podium....lets go to the points:Congrats to Dave Reinecke! Winner of the 3DP 908/3 Proxy, well done. Consistent podiums come through for the championship....almost like the real thing.Entry Rd 1 Rd 2 Rd3 Rd4 Rd 5 Total Doc Reinecke 7 10 7 8 8 40 Mike SoCal 5 8 10 6 10 39 Racer1h 10 6 6 10 4 36 OXO Cube 6 5 8 7 5 31 BARC Racing 4 7 5 5 7 28 Chappyman66 8 4 4 4 3 23 Cdub 3 3 3 3 6 18
Congratulations to MikeSoCal for edging out Racer1h for the second spot in the championship. That car is fast and smooth so it was definitely a fight, but in the end tires made the difference.

Thanks for everyone involved in making this proxy happen. Was happy to get a podium on the final race. I now have a sidewinder chassis I am very happy with and it should mean a more competitive car in the future.
Funny how 3 D printing has become my favorite aspect of this hobby now. The idea of a 3D proxy is what got me seriously looking at printers. Now I am printing something new everyday.
Congrats to Doc for winning with a consistent car.
I am looking forward to the next oneCheers
Dan
