  • “Chicago” Slot Car Show

Anyone have information on the show in northwest Indiana this weekend?

  • #2
It's at the Lincoln Center on Lincoln (Ave?) in Highland, Indiana. Take Indianapolis Blvd south from I-94.

Doors open at 10:00 CST unless you want to pay extra to go in early.

This has been a great show with many vendors.

Boy what memories. Used to go when it was in Matteson. We used get the rooms with all the other vendors and had a ball going room to room on the night before the show buying it up lol. What a sight it was seeing almost a whole hallway of rooms open with toys all over the beds.

Great memories Harry! Sure was a fun venue for a slot car show, food, drinks and show space all in one location.

I wasn't planning on going, haven't gone since they where in Matteson way back when. Out of curosity I wanted to see where Highland IN was, and I noticed the show was within two miles of a brewery I like, Byway. They have a awesome Poutine along with good beers. My wife was going out with her mom and sisters so I decided to take a ride. Got some good deals. The Airfix kit was $5, and the two loose bodies were two for $5.

Nice haul, but where's the pic of the poutine and beer?

Show was good, it seems like a few more tables than usual. Lots of options in all scales which is great to see, but I knid of wish they would make certain aisles HO, 1/32, would make it a little easier to navigate personally. I did score a bunch of bodies with good glass, and a few wish list items I have been wanting. Love being able to haggle a little and also not have to pay for shipping.

One of my finds at the show.
HO scale Red Lobster March by Michael Smith of Kansas City.
I have a number of his cars; nice work.

Some of my haul. I had a few Testa Rossa and the Jaguar bodies. Time to start working on chassis designs and hopefully a new aircompressor for Christmas.
