Pic of the Week: Group 5 cars in pit lane - here are a variety of brands of group 5 slot cars. My favourite is the Carrera "moby dick" Porsche 935. The pit figures are the Scalextric crew with a dark wash to highlight the details. Enjoy the pic, Cheers RvE

Pic of the Week: Luxury vehicles on the track - many years ago my elder son had a fondness for the street version of luxury slot cars! Here are 3 of his collection. The Range Rover and Alfa Romeo are from Scalextric and the Mercedes Benz is a rare Carrera slot car. Enjoy the photo, RvE

When my modeling skills are finally where I would deem them "acceptable" I am going to have to order a Fein Design kit. I just don't feel I can do a $250 kit just right now, you should be fine however Chris!

Pic of the Week: Lotus 78 in action - this is the Flyslot version from a few years ago. The John Player Special livery looks great and the driver is very nicely detailed, but the car came without the clear coat, so I sprayed it. Oddly, my version did not come with tire markings, so I will see if I have some decals that will fit. I had to glue the steerable front wheel system to keep the front wheels straight, and the car is noisy as hell, and not a great running car......but is sure looks great! Cheers RvE

This is a great option for that car RvE. I borrowed this photo off the intenet but I did the same conversion myself.
Shapeways sells the chassis and the Policar pod and gears can be picked up from several retailers. You can also use your stock motor or get the pod RTR. I turned down the stock wheels to make the inserts.

Thanks KK, I will take a look at that conversion. Cheers RvE

Took a diecast 143 scale Speedster and turned it into a slot car. I was able to keep the full interior.
