Chris W - that Tyrrell is fantastic with great scale details. Looks like a fully detailed cockpit and driver. Is it a scratch build? Is it 1/32 or 1/24? Any more pics of it?

Here is my 6-wheeler "in action". Its the old SCX model and I changed out the motor and detailed the driver a bit to look like Depailler.

Love the Escort, saw that car with Sarel driving many times, what a race he had against Ian in the BMW, Morgenrood (Mazda) and of course Willie Hepburn in the brutal Chevy! The peak of South African racing, IMO.

Tell me more about the slot car version please, body and decals etc.

Man, I remember that green Charger. It is very very close to the color of the 1967 Plymouth Fury III that my mother and I shared after my father sold my car, the jerk. I also remember when you built that '56 Chrysler. We had a '56 New Yorker when I was a kid.

Hi Chris,

The Escort started life as a rally car.


Which then was used as a classic club racer.


I've designed my own decals.

I butchered a Sideways Zakspeed Capri and glued the wheel arches, front spoiler and the wing to the body.


I used a Sideways Zakspeed Capri chassis and running gear.

This is what it looks like now.

These are some awesome pics and really inspire me to work some realistic backgrounds into my photos. Thanks everyone.

Here are a few photos I took and then quickly doctored with the Mobile Monet and Photo Sketch apps on my iPad. Easy peasy.
First pic is the Tuscarora Tornado I made for my friend's 60th birthday. Used a diecast body, decals I created, and an old Carrera F1 chassis.
2nd pic are two repaints. Green Carrera Cobra and a purple Carrera Cheetah on an old Strombecker Le Mans start track.
3rd is my Coyote Lakes Raceway Official Pace Car where I repainted a Carrera Cobra Hardtop in almond & orange with decals I created.

That yellow Corvette C7.R is still one of the fastest Carrera slot cars I have. It doesn't look that good anymore though.
