  • Scale slot car photos

Since this is a new forum, we need a thread with cool slot car photos. So I thought I would start it off.
I have been playing around with placing some cars in front of an old racing car calendar to act as a back drop. It actually worked quite well. My base is just an old scrap piece of black melamine that I cut a slot into for the guide! I placed the base at the right height and angle in front of the calendar, and took the photos on my phone. Here are my shots.

Enjoy the pics, and feel to add your own scale shots (any scale will do). Cheers RvE

Have a whole forum right on the main page FORUM HELP and has a subforum with videos.

I don't have my own track, so I often pose my cars on a diorama.

Sometimes I just put the car in front of a printed picture.

Whatever works. No need to have separate photo host any longer. HRW is set up to host them for you. Much quicker and easier.

Just uploaded that on my phone in about 5 seconds.

Since RichD mentioned dioramas, I thought I’d pass along Jim Hunt Magazine. He uses dioramas on most of his slot car reviews.

One of the goals of the new HRW Forum was to simplify posting photos by forum members. Where the old forum required uploading your photos to a third party hosting site and then creating a link, the new forum offers a much more straightforward approach. You can now simply upload your photos directly to this forum (see video tutorial in the "Help" forum for more details). Uploading photos to the HRW Forum will also eliminate the possibility of broken links in the event an external hosting site decides to go out-of-business, moving your photos to another hosting site, changes in the hosting site's business model (e.g. the infamous PhotoBucket "extortion" scheme), etc.. For the record, you can still post pictures stored on a third party site as RichD noted in an earlier post - just be aware of the potential downsides if you do.

Rich D - that is a great shot of the yellow Corvette - very Scale! Thanks for sharing.

To All - as noted above, sharing a photo is super easy on this site. You just click on the camera icon on the top left of the Post Reply screen and then select the photo you want from your computer and hit the Upload button.

That yellow Corvette C7.R is still one of the fastest Carrera slot cars I have. It doesn't look that good anymore though.

A few Porsche 917's at night.
