Very sad day indeed. A great ambassador for the sport, and one of the best drivers ever.

A class act all the way. Probably the best race car driver of his time and the only one not to win a Grand Prix Championship. His loss to Hawthorne was classic - and probably just what he would have wanted. Casual, fast and smooth! RIP Sir Stirling.

I first saw Stirling (he was not a "Sir" then) , at the 1961 Players 200 at Mosport....I fell in love with his Lotus 19 and still remember the day ....years later I attempted a build of that car.

          RIP Sir Stirling

          Cheers

Much respect to a legend... all the grueling races and all the greats that lost there lifes. He was one of the lucky ones. Much love Sir Sterling Moss! God speed mate!

Back when my only access to auto racing was ABC's 'Wide World of Sports' Stirling Moss and Jim Clark were the only international drivers I knew about. Always thought of Stirling as a great racer and ambassador for the sport.

Yep. When I heard, " ...the agony of defeat", I was glued to the TV, hoping for races... or girls in gymnastics outfits, swimsuits, etc.
