1975 through 1980 they used this generation Camaro as IROC cars. Each season with a new model year car.
So some potential there as well.

Yes we'd discussed those years of Camaro and I'd decided to go with the newer 86 body rather than these mid 70's even though my first car I'd owned was a '76... and that's where my heart was.

Yeah I prefer this era of IROC - the 70s - the earlier years of the series.
But the Gen3 Camaro as an IROC car was a great idea and a really good contribution to the slot car hobby - thanks for your involvement on that deal!
Again the decal work for these Gen2 "IROC conversions" would be very very easy - like "home hobbyist" easy . . .
So converting this newly released Z28 slot car could be as simple as a solid color paint job (and set of minilite mags and ignoring the rear fender flares).
In any case always happy to see some more American cars!

Oh boy, now I'm having bad flashbacks. The anemic '79 Z-28, the open shirt gold chain wearing disco guys loved those things.
I never set foot in one of those places, I'm proud to say.
That car is cool though, major kudos to Scalextric.
I don't care what they make as long as it 'merican.Allan
