Excellent review with a detailed look at this NSR car and chassis. The initials of the car designer, G. M., are clearly visible on the chassis. The designer is Giovanni Montiglio, who left NSR to form his own company, ThunderSlot.

One point of accuracy with this Porsche 911. The Porsche 911 internally labeled as 997 was produced between 2004 and 2012. It was succeeded by the next evolution of the 911, designated the 991, which was produced from 2012 and 2019. The GTLM Pro class Porsche 911 RSRs raced at Le Mans in 2018 were 991 RSR models. NSR has produced only the 997 model 911 and they have used their old molds to release this Pink Pig. The 997 and 991 are similar externally but there are distinct differences. However, if you want a cool Pink Pig that is a very good runner, designed by Mr ThunderSlot, this 997 is your car!

Yes, lots of differences when you look at the model and some good photos of the actual cars.

Yes sir, I am not that smart on these as I should I suppose. I did read a few articles....but just did not go into it.

Funny as some folks emailed me and thought it was just a "throwback" scheme and had no idea it actually was raced in 2018. They still bought it

Lol... I’d buy it too. Very cool livery and the only game in town, until ScaleAuto likely produces a more accurate 991.

So I'm a pretty picky guy when it comes to accuracy, and yet with this car... I couldn't care less that it's not technically accurate. I consider this an homage to what was an homage in real life.
There's a whole story about the control that Porsche exerts over what toys/slot cars get made currently... essentially Carrera have a stranglehold on Porsche slot cars because of their shared Germanic roots.

ScaleAuto is producing the 991 RSR. I suppose that it’s just a matter of time before they release the Pink Pig and Martini cars from 2018 Le Mans.

What I’d like to see, before you start modifying the cars, is a head-to-head test between the sidewinder car and the anglewinder car.
Since Dave prefers anglewinders and Harry prefers sidewinders, it would be nice for both guys to test both cars.

Nothing from me. I'm unable to do testing of this car because my friend Clem's track isn't available to me. I don't have a good track at home to do any real testing on.
