I have been using a DS basic controller since I started in the hobby about a year ago. It had served me well, mostly because I was extremely careful to never have a hookup accident. I did however have a couple reliability problems with it, both of which I could fix myself. Never the less I wanted to get a high quality unit I knew would last me for years.
Under advisement of those in my club, I reached out to Jim @ Difalco Design via email. There are so many options available, I wanted some help picking the best controller for my intended purposes.
He responded quickly to my questions throughout the next day, and we finally settled on the DD304 with Traction control, plus an extra network for some 1/24 scale racing. Like I said, I wanted something that was probably more than I needed right now, but would work for me for years.
Once the choice was made he sent me a paypal invoice and I got tracking on my controller within a couple days. The shipping was free!
I have had a chance to use it (after carefully reading what all these knobs and switches do), and after just a handful of laps knocked down my own track record by almost a 10th of a second. The brakes are without a doubt better on every car I have with this controller, and the adjustibility of the power band on the big power cars is amazing.
Long story short, I would recommend this buying experience to anyone. He seems to have a controller to suite nearly every need, and was ready and willing to hear me out to provide me the best possible product. I would absolutely do it over again!
