I recently discovered slot.it DTM cars. They take a bit of work and a motor swap, but I really like them.

I love the yellow livery, it is easy to follow around the track for those of us who are a bit colorblind. When these cars came out I couldn't wait for a nice livery, I bought the first white kit I saw. Click image for larger version Name:	20200731_081103~2.jpg Views:	0 Size:	841.4 KB ID:	154783

just got the green 190e. will be interesting to see how the single body post compares to the double... Front tires were wobbly, usually the plastic tires are decent, found the front axle was bowed about .010 installed a new axle and it looks good. Rear tires were mounted way in out of the box but there's enough axle to move them out even with the body.

I really like the DTM cars and bought 3 Carrera models. But, they have too many issues and weigh a lot, so I was never able to get them to perform very well. I discovered the slot.it DTM models and I really like them. I have 4, including the Mercedes. I do much the same setup as you, however I swap the guide to a deep wood guide and the motor to an NSR Shark 25. I found it helps if you move the wheels out to the edge of the body, too. I am very happy with the performance I get with this setup. They run 6.3 - 6.4 second laps on my track. Stock motors ran 6.7 - 6.8. My fastest cars run 5.9 - 6.1.
