  • Couple questions

Mainly a 1/32 - 1/24 racer here, but I do have a small collection of HO drag cars. Mainly 70's Funny Cars and Pro Stock stuff.

Question 1 - isn't there a guide flag for T-Jets and 4 Gear cars that allow one to use on a larger scale track?

Question 2 - do the T-Jets and 4 Gear cars run on a positive polarity set up (positive being on the passenger side of car)?

    Thanks in advance

Yes! What you want is a Slide Guide from HO RacePro North America. Two versions of the Slide Guide are available. Ed Bianchi is the man behind HO RacePro and he does post on this BB.
All HO cars have the negative pickup on the right side looking in the direction of travel, 1/32nd and 1/24th cars are the opposite.

Thanks for the replies Rich and Ed.

I was afraid of that... Our strip is positive polarity...
Is there a way to switch the polarity on these cars when using the slide guide?

Reversing the polarity is simple. If you swap the front and rear magnets, the direction that the cars runs is reversed. Your cars would then run the same direction as the 1/32 & 1/24 cars. You didn't ask about inline cars but they can be reversed by swapping magnets or flipping the rear axle.

Sounds like the Sick Puppy strip may soon see some HO cars.

                Pancake Voodoo

Note: The Specialty chassis (4 Gear) uses an extra gear. The Specialty armature is wound in the same direction as the Standard and Magna AFX armatures . All things being equal, it should run backwards. The factory reversed the positions of permanent magnets, so the Specialty cars would run the same direction as their three geared counter parts.

                  It's crossed my mind...

Thanks all for the advice. Mr. Bianchi, I'll be in touch soon
