well the first thing I found when taking one apart was that the motor magnets were glued in place.

        Now lets check the
        ARMATURES:

        1. Stock AFX M/T Gold wire with red ends is the only Aurora armature allowed.
        4. Arms must measure between 13.8 and 16.5 ohms between poles.

Mine has red ends with green wire, I do have 1 with red ends and gold wire. I think I will test them both.

        Red wire test around 14 / 15
        gold wire test around 6

That's way the rules say red wire

As you can see I now have the Red ends with the gold wire
          ARMATURE in place

Lets get it cleaned up and turn free with the top gears in place

Be sure every thig is clean before putting back together. I use Viper Juice to lightly oil moving parts

For wheels I got two sets of RRR tomy wheel sets. 952C and 953C. So lets put them on and see how true they are.

The RRR rear wheels were not all that true, just might get rid of them.

Tested the newer green tip gold wire auto world armature 15 / 15.5 so the looks good for this race

You can run higher ohms just not lower, The lower the ohms adds a little more speed ( or power )

The ones I test was 15/ 16.5 from a Auto World x-traction not a ultra-g , I all so test on the solder but that shouldn't matter, I will change the rule, realy tring to keep the Mean greens and others at 6 ohms out

Do yours have the green tips with gold wire ?

Maybe should of had only Auto Worlds stock setup.

Love the old Javelin and AMX bodies, great start! Is gluing HO magnets good, how do you determine where to glue them, air gap adjustment or? In 1/24 scale we used to center and glue the magnets.
