Does anyone use these track clips or are they a waste of time and/or money

Do you mean the track clips for the TOMY AFX track? If yes, they make a big difference as far as better electrical connections and smoother track joints.

I had a 16 ft x 4ft four lane road course , and used those clips about everywhere. I only needed the original power supplies (one per lane) to power the track with zero drop outs of power. It can get expensive ( the clips) but cheaper than buying a pre built custom track.

Yes, I used them on my last layout & swear by them. I cleaned all of the connections first, applied some Rail Zip, and then clipped the sections together.

Years ago I used the original lock and joiner Aurora track along with the clips. The track had been in storage for some time and even though I cleaned and adjusted all of the connections I still had power problems until I added some jumpers. With the clips at least the joints were smooth. Modern Tomy/AFX track makes much better electrical connections and if you have places where there are gaps between the sections the clips are certainly useful. The clips are expensive when you need a lot of them, if you shop around you may at least find a lower price.

As the others have stated - I find them WELL worth the investment as they make for a significantly tighter joint, making for nice smooth transitions!

Rarely used them back in the day except for broken track, but in retrospect they seem like a great idea and I'll be using them along with a drop of Rail Zip at the contacts, thanks!
