A nice car, would be a great addition to my Corvette collection...

Aki, you wrote it is a PM kit. So I assume you did not copy it but use the original.

        - How far do you hollow / lighten the body ?
        - Do you use the original cockpit too, and if yes, do you lighten this ?

        Regards,

        Roland

Did you mount the motor behind the axle because of a certain lack of space between cockpit and axle ?

          Thanks guys.

Roland, yes I used the original body and all the parts.
Removed resin as much as I can.
And yes there was no room for the motor between cockpit and axles but plenty at the back.

How much does the complete RTR body weigh ?

About 20g Roland, one body post came off but it doesn't add much.

              Cheers

                Thank you, Aki.

I wanted to know if you go to the limt with reducing the weight. The Audi R8 LMP I had shown here with the driver figure problems originally was very heavyweight, but complicated to lighten because it is painted already and so you couldn´t see how thick or thin you have already cut out.
It is around 20 gms as well, so I feel reassured that it is not too heavy anymore.
Since I have been racing super lightweight slotcars ( wing cars and similar ) for many years it is hard to b reak away fom the urge of making resin bodies as light as possible, too.
Although the models haven´t got anything to do with real race competitions anymore.

                Regards,
                Roland

Did sort of cut the cockpit insert ?

I carved the driveshaft tunnel hollow for the wires.

                    Thank you, Aki.

You convinced and encouraged me to accept at last that I do not build competition models anymore but models for the fun and joy of modeling. So I will copy the cockpits in future as well. This won´t be an additional waste of silicone because for this I´ll use a reusable moulding compound.

                    Regards, Roland

had to open up the computer to see in full size as the phone don’t give it justice!!!
