A New Porsche on the Bench!

I'm calling it a 928 GTR, the rear wing isn't integrated yet.
First light coat of Mr Surfacer 1200. I had trouble spraying it - I didn't thin it at first, then in the cup thinned it 1:1. I then watched some videos that showed 1:1.5 is the correct ratio. This will get sanded and more correct ratio coats will follow.

I'm going to fit a ScaleAuto Complete Home Series RTR chassis under it. Relatively inexpensive, adjustable, and has aluminum wheels.

Here's an update... I've figured out how to mount the body to the chassis, epoxied that all nice!

Worked on the wheels... all 4 inserts are properly set. I just have to paint the inner rim and the inserts.

I didn't know anyone ever made a model of a 928

I bought mine in 82 and it was red. I thought it would hold it's value, but it didn't.

I just looked at the 928 models on Ebay and you're right, the prices are out of hand.

This is an AMT model. I'm also building this Countach at the same time.

Thanks, I'll look for one. I looked for years but never found one. I'm also looking for a model of a Pitts airplane, one or two seater, I don't care.

Well, I have a couple updates... paint and decals mostly. The color is spot on I think, but the pictures don't do it justice.

Here was the first coat of paint.



Then I sanded it a bit with some 4000 wet and gave it another coat of color. After that I gave it a light coat of Alclad Clear Kote and started the Pattos decal work.



Here's where it's at... A stand still until I receive more decals.

Here's the completed decals - but I have to redo the front lip. The CF decal broke up in places from all the handling. Next is to spray a coat of semi-gloss.
