  • BRM Trans-Am Measurements

Could someone supply the diameter and width of the wheels on the T-A cars?
Also, the diameter and width of the mounted tires?
I’m trying to determine if the stock parts will work for a more modern IMSA GTO car or if I need something taller and/or wider.
    Thanks.

    Hi WB2

Rims are 17mm x 11mm front and rear that is outside measurement
    Rears are 27mm diameter tyres
    Fronts have 25mm diameter tyres

Front are 11mm wide at the tyre
Rear are 13mm wide at the tyre

    cheers

Tire dimensions were spot for on for the car I was hoping to use as a donor body. Unfortunately, that car was 1/25 scale and BRM wheelbase was too long. Which leads to my next question....

I see the BRM Camaro and Mustang use different body plates. The front of the plates are shaped differently, but is there a difference in the wheelbase between the two cars?
I would think not, but I recall reading there was a small difference. If so, what are the measurements?

Pretty sure they are the same wheelbase.

Wheelbase and track are the same. The outer chassis plates are different.

I’ll have to wait until my Mustang shows up.
I’m baffled why BRM made the chassis different for the cars. I understand the body plate being a different shape or width, but the body float mounts are in different location in the front of the chassis. Economy of scale should have dictated using the same main chassis plate.
