1/24, 1/25 Cobras

I jut finished these 2 Cobras--1/25 AMT street and 1/24 Revell--Dan Gurney's Targa Florio Cobra.

Nice clean builds. I don't see too many in the larger scale. What kind of chassis' did you use?

I love Cobras, especially the 289 versions. Those look spectacular!

I was finally able to obtain two of the Revell 1/24 complete cars last year for very reasonable money. Both need tires and cleaning; one needs stripping and both need painting.

What tires are you using on the Revell Cobra?

I love the added details like the hood latches and jack points on the Targa Florio. Again, those look amazing.

Nice cars Tom, is one an AMT and one a Revell? I finally got around to working on an old K&B Cobra GT body I have. One side was busted, a fender was busted. I was a mess. I epoxied all of it and use epoxy as a filler, too. got it pretty well straightened out. I wanted it white with a blue stripe. Those cars came with windows molded in the cars, not removable. I thought I had it masked pretty good. All the window lines are messed up. I don't know if it's fixable!!

Thanks guys. The yellow one is AMT and the blue is Revell. Both cars use Ortman repro vintage tires on the rear ( they are actually made for the K&B Lola T70 but fit perfect on both) and the stock original front tires.

What paint brand and color did you use on the body? I may need to copy it.

The tires look great. Are those decals or did you hand paint the original lettering?

Thanks again Brian. The paint is Testors Nassau Blue lacquer with 2 coats of clear. The Goodyear markings are decals from Gofer (sheet #11050) I'm a little too shaky to hand letter them now LOL

I like those! You did a great job! When you say the chassis that came with them, can you show me a photo?

when I think of a model car chassis I am not sure that what I am familiar with would work.
