  • Cox Lola project

This was a purchase from Ebay of a Lola body only with the front end busted off. When Cox did this car it was made in Hong Kong and they used K&B Lola for the body mold. So I scrounged for a K&B body with a good front end to fix the busted body. The original chassis is a one of a kind and not likely to ever be found. I had a Cox tube chassis and adapted it to the Lola mount posts. Here's what I started with and ended up with.

Nice work Matt. I have never seen a large tube chassis like that before. Very cool.

Cox sold those chassis on a card for the 36 D or 16 D sidewinder style or inline style They are a pretty neat chassis for guys like me that don't have the best soldering abilities!

          Matt,
Great looking restoration! It's always worth having those broken bits around for a restoration job....

That chassis looks similar to something I built early on, using RC airplane aileron fittings to make connections that I couldn't yet solder. A pretty floppy iso-fulcrum Lola.....but I hadn't see this chassis in the wild before, so that's pretty cool!

Very good, I like the chassis modification from inline to sidewinder I've got couple of those extendable chassis might have to do the same with one, very good work.

The chassis isn't modified, except for the body mounts. Cox made these chassis in sidewinder and inline styles.

That was the way Cox made them, they have a "half" interior.
