Classic Stinger Roadster chassis

At the local show Sunday I swapped a correct chassis build for a Cox Cheetaracha for the top chassis in the picture. Very similiar to the bottom chassis except it doesn't have the bent flange that sticks thru slots int he side of the body. It is the correct chassis for the Classic Stinger Roadster, which is really rare car. I had a Gamma Ray chassis under my body. The Gamma is the lower chassis int he picture. the guy I got it from is a good friend and I built him a really nice Cox Iso Fulcrum chassis for his body in exchange.

Nicely done. Isn't the Stinger the one with the flap in the back for the air brake? I never got into the thingies much....

Paul, the Stinger was the (mostly) orange car with the flap that popped up when you braked. Late in the game they produced the roadster version. It used a different frame and was just a plain body without the flap. Not many of them are around and it is one of those cars that you can't afford to go out and buy, but sometimes that stuff falls in your lap. Remember how you got that Cox 2D and 2E??? It just fell out of the sky into your hands!!
