I wanted to start on the chassis but I ran out of 1/8 bushings and will need to wait to get some to start the chassis. I figured I can start on the body with Mr. Color primer to start then into the Dehydrator for 10 hours to make sure it cures and be ready for the base coat. The car is going to be the Ned Jarret 1961 Impala NASCAR #11. Will keep posting up the process and the finished car when completed.Area 51 Raceway North Carolina U.S.A

Did the Base coat today ,Used Tamiya paint with 3 light coats then 2 heavy coats. After waiting 20 minutes into the Hydrator at 122 degrees for 14 hours to cure the paint. The next step is painting the roof white when the blue base coat is done curing.Area 51 Raceway North Carolina U.S.A

Update on the NASCAR Build. Got up early morning and cleared the body after placing the horrible decals I got that very difficult to place. All I can say is that the JImmy Florian car decals were a lot easier then these damn things. I then started on the chassis and finished it at noon. Runs good and just need to solder the body pads for the mounts. The decals were super thin and you had to cut each one out closely or you would have extra thin plastic hanging out as these were not really cut like the old school traditional decals I remembered as a kid. There are some imperfections on the decals after the clear was laid on but it is what it is so let it ride!Area 51 Raceway North Carolina U.S.A

Early morning corrections, Had to move the guide plate back a little. No big deal just unsolder and re solder to correct the position. Now it’s right as rain again.
