So, I decided to experiment a little. I wanted to create some rocks for crawling. So, I purchased some Great Stuff foam that is sprayed from the can. I have to say, I’m happy with the results. If you are interested in trying it, here is what I used -
1) Great Stuff - about $3 a can.
2) Piece of cardboard - I used a piece of cardboard to hot glue the rocks on. A gluing tip - let the glue sit for 5-10 seconds to cool slightly before placing the foam rock on it.
3) Plastic wrap - use this to spray the foam on.....after the foam dries, it peals away from the plastic wrap fairly easy. Then, you can use the rocks wherever you want to place them. Below is a photo of the rocks drying in the garage on a box with plastic wrap tapped to it.
****make sure to not get the stuff on your hands or in your eyes. Gloves and safety goggles recommended ****
4) Hot Glue Gun
The cool thing about the foam rocks on the cardboard is it is very light and mobile. You can also set it on a decline or inline......or just flat on the floor. The photos with the Jeep is a total of two cans.
Now, I might get a little fancy and paint the rocks to make them look like the real thing. If I get time.......
