  • Vintage Eldon layout,Possum Holler rides again

Posted in the for sale section that I was once again looking for a couple of Eldon slots to run on our restored Eldon track.
Fitzy asked for some pictures. So here ya go.
Simple layout, track has been restored and surprising runs well.
I know of all of the negative views on Eldon track. Some are true, some not so much.
My Carrera cars run great on it with no mag and PG tires.
I like the size of it.

Looks good Rusty. Nothing wrong with the old Eldon track. Like all old track it has to be clean and shiny. Slot is shallow home set, but it's good usable track and it's plentiful. Are you running on 6 volts?

Too many curves for me, though! I'm just too old for all those curves!

Nice layout. Brings back memories from days past when my buddy and I would combine our tracks to make a longer layout fours hours of hot racing action. Only issue we noticed since all we ever had was Eldon tracks was that one lane would cause more wear on the brushes that the other lane. That looks like the newer version of track due to the way the inside of the curves look.

Running after market power, adjustable.Wing car reunion,I like that!
This is the later version of the track, though you still get a little clicked clack,
just not as bad after doing some adjusting on the track joints..

I noticed the lane marking and was wondering about that. I painted lane marking on my Eldon track. Got the idea out of the Pit Pass Eldon newsletter. I also made road signs. Man was that a while ago

Very cool Rusty ................I put thousands of laps on Eldon track as a kid.

I am sure you are aware of this, but, if you are having grip issues, or want more grip, flat latex paint will improve the grip considerably, and as Eldon is styrene, the latex will adhere really well,....or,......you can leave it as it is

                          Cheers
