  • Help With IDing Ferrari 612 Can Am Brass chassis

So I saw this brass chassised car at a vintage toy store and could not leave without it as it was the only interesting slot car there but I don't know much about vintage stuff and was hoping someone could ID the chassis make and possibly the motor?

    Thanks,Chet

It's by Dynamic - Dynamic Models Inc., and the motor looks original to the chassis. Google will show you more examples.

Yes, it's a Dynamic chassis. Possibly the original motor although hard for me to say without more details.
The body is vac formed lexan Ferrari 612.

They can be made to run pretty well although they are too wide to put under hard bodies since they were designed for the vac formed wider handling bodies.

Thanks for the ID and other details. Looks like the lexan body was well detailed but sadly it has curled under around the nose and rear quarters. Is there a way to recover from this warped condition or should just look for a new lexan body?

You need to get another body. They are available.
It's probably butyrate instead of Lexan, and they get brittle when they curl so there's no way to fix them.
