SIP 2020 Round 6 - Shelby Hendrix Speedway

SIP 2020 Round 6 will be another 1 Mile Challenge at Shelby-Hendrix Speedway. That means 92 laps of racing with 2 or 3 pit stops needed to complete the distance due to fuel consumption and tire wear. The race will be run in three 25 lap segments and a final 17 lap segment. Deslots will result in delays equal to the length of time it takes for the car to return to racing action.

Race details will be confirmed shortly as the cars to be raced are determined. To keep things competitive only stock Fly cars w/ PG tires will be used, though there will be various types of cars available - Porsche 917K, Lola T70 MK3B, & Ford GT40.

We always enjoy SHS. We will, however, be keeping a close eye on scoring.....

As you should! We will be more transparent this time with the lap times and pit times that add up to be each car's segment times so nothing gets counted twice or missed.

Well.... without the girlfriend, we don't know that our driver's wife will be following close enough.....

Yes, the girlfriend certainly ended up doing everyone a favor by keeping a close eye on the tabulations. We seriously considered adding her to our team of scorers, but her primary assets are in areas other than accounting. It seems the driver's wives have more to keep an eye on than the race tabulations.

Final preparations for SIP Round 6 are underway at Shelby-Hendrix Speedway. Our maintenance crews have selected the 7 cars to be used for the race. As planned, all of the cars are stock Fly classics with PG tires.

Teams can select their cars on a first come basis. Once the starting grid is set the race details will be finalized.

We will be happy to team up with our Martini friends again running the #4 917. The hospitality tent is first rate and the team is known to be of age.....no controversy needed.

We are focusing on preparing the car and getting our driver comfortable in the beast.

No response yet from Tusco Todd regarding car choice for the TC Lugnuts team. I sent him a PM the other day and am just hoping all is okay. No hurry here as I have other projects going and am still refining tire wear rate and the impact it will have on lap times.
