  • Round #4 Snipsic Lake Speedway

All the Teams are checked in and there's action all around the track! The GT40s are ganging up in the garages trying to get a game plan on trying to keep the corvettes behind them! On the other hand the Corvettes are already in line for practice to get as much track time as they can. #67,1,112 and 97 are next to hit the track for practice as #20 and 67 just pulled in after some hot laps.
Bob and I decided to take a week off and run them next week so we should be qualifying on Sunday the 22nd and run the race on Wednesday 25th Ill keep everyone posted. Thanks, Glenn

SURPRISE!!! - WE QUALIFIED THE CARS EARLIER THIS EVENING!!!!

      http://

Glenn called Jeremy and I up today and asked if we wanted to qualify the cars tonight. Not much going on so we both showed up to help Glenn. Did I say help? Jeremy drove the cars and I took notes and photos and typed up and posted the data. Hmmmm...... what's wrong with this picture? LOL Well actually - nothing - here is a photo of our driver...

      http://

The Qualifying results are shown below. You will note that ChrisGuyW is at the top of the chart! He didn't just get the top spot, he absolutely blew everyone away. His car is in a class of its own. Rare Air! Congrats Chris

      http://
I'll ask Glenn to submit a photo of the top qualifying cars. Once again I forgot to get a photo. It's so nice to just type all the information into Zack's spreadsheet in no particular order and then press a button and it all gets sorted in numeric order - no thinking involved!

Of note, we fixed a loose gear on Big Dugh's car which reaped a reduction in his time. I also told Arroldn that we would take the body off the 112 Ferrari to inspect the motor/guide wires as his car cut out on track at the last race. The wires were fine and we didn't find any cause for the loss of power. The inside of the car, chassis and motor was covered with rubber marbles so we blew it out to clean it up and put the body back on. I also mentioned that the tape on the bottom of the chassis might be dragging, but we put it on a tech block and checked it out. The tape if not interfering with the chassis clearance, but from the qualifying results you can see that the tires are still not hooking up.

At any rate, Congrats to Chris, Zack and Aloha!

I just don't understand the car was 4 secs quicker than last year on my track. Hopefully the tires will start hooking up sooner than later. Thanks for looking it over. Congratulations to the qualifying leaders. From 7th to 22nd doesn't look well for Team Martin. The Porsche seems to be doing about as expected maybe even a little better.

Thanks guys. I know for myself I am spending more time talking to my wife, doing taxes and most importantly building slot cars. Boring with no sports, amazed with Sunday paper only 3 pages for that section. Please all be safe. Aloha Dale

thanks for getting qualifying done and congrats to the podium finishers. Strange the #64 had gear issues. There weren't any in round 3 were there? Seemed to run very strong during that race.

It was slipping but not totally loose. We didn't notice issues in round 3 but I have to think it was somewhat loose. It was almost like you had a centrifugal clutch. The car made a good run but Jeremy noticed it was slipping on a hard start. We first thought the pinion was loose, but then upon closer look found the spur gear was slipping. We tightened the allen screw and ran more laps and knocked another tenth off the Q-time.

All went well and a huge thanks to Bob and Jeremy for coming over. Guilty as charged!!!!!!! I had my sweat paints and slippers on and sitting on the bar stool watching the two pros at work. LOL I did do repairs and clean tires so it was a team effort. Car were running good a lot more grip on my track compared to Curt's. We took our time and gave everyone a fair shake on there qualifying runs. Thank you everyone for letting us host a couple of rounds in the series I know the club loves running the cars
              Thanks, Glenn

Glenn, thanks for the update. I have no expectations of getting it done unless everyone there feels its safe to do so.

Thanks for the efforts and I hope everyone there stays happy and healthy!

I'm sitting here laughing. I'm reading the forum comments figuring out the starting grid for the SCCA cars and Alexa has me listening to Ernest Tubb sing Blue Christmas on my Amazon puck and I'm wondering what alternate universe I've just entered. If I make it back to CT by Sunday night, I'll be there Glenn! 👲
