  • 2021 Pioneer Legends Proxy Tracks and Hosts

First, Robert and I would like to thank all of the track owners who have volunteered to host a race in this new and exciting proxy. We have done our best to get a mix of ovals and road course venues to make a good mix of setup options to compete with. The series will begin and end in our home state Connecticut but in between will go to a number of distant locations throughout the U.S. As I said we will be starting in Ct. but here Is the exciting journey with tentative dates the cars will travel along.

    Race 5. June 10th - 24th Suncoast Speedway Clearwater Fl. NEW !!! - Oval
Race 6. July 2nd -July 20th Mitch 58 in Oregon - Road Course
Races 7 thru 10 will be in Ohio at the following venues in the order the hosts choose. Between July 28th til completion.

Nashville Speedway: Scalextric Sport, Turns painted, 12Volts usually. Run counter clockwise. Straights are 7'2" with 21" between the turns. I run the cars alone in the inner lane. May try the outer as well for this proxy. Time will tell.

It dose, But we all know that we are trying to make laps, so it's give and take.

                  G'Day Robert & Ray ( is that something like R2 - aka 'R Squared' ? )

That's a very impressive line up of venues that I'm really looking forward to sending my entry probably more than 1/2 way around the world to compete on !

Entry Fee will be paid end of this week - with the plan to dispatch the car last week of January - to make the Mar 1st deadline...

Looking hopeful so far, but until it gets amongst it - you never know, and that's the joy of Proxy racing!
All the way from Sydney, Australia.......

                  Cheers, Tony.

Zcarfan will be providing updated pictures / details on the Galena Motor Speedway and GMS Bullring as I do not have current pictures of them and I know Mike has done updates like painting the track surface on the road course, etc. But can provide the following info:

                      - Galena Motor Speedway - Carrera 2-lane road course with multiple varying radius corners, optical timing and painted track surface
                      - GMS Bullring - 4x8 three lane oval wood track with painted surface, copper tape rails and optical timing (I can't remember if there is any light banking built in - Zcarfan will be able to provide the added detail)

The Augerhole speedway is a simple two lane Carrera track with R1 corners and dead strip timing on a 4x8 table. I will look to get pictures of this to share at a later date.

The Mark's Model World 69' Tri-Oval is an 8 lane banked track with flush braid and epoxy finish using dead strip timing
