Hello Fellow Slot Car Proxy Racers!
Are you ready to race?? Only a few more sleeps and the start of the season and the new GT3 era will be upon us!
I have picked up the last packages from the PO here in Chilliwack, and tomorrow I will make my way to Sumas to pick up the cars that were shipped there.
The plan is to focus on the pre-qualifiers first and give them some time and attention, before we run Round 0 and take a closer look at the cars that will make the grid for our 2020 GT3 season.
I have given some thought on a fair way to approach the pre-qualifying round and to ensure the best cars make it into the field, but to also ensure that I don't run the cars too much prior to a long season.
Here's the plan
1) I will run the cars for a few qualifying laps (lust like we do at the regular rounds) - the car that TQ's will get two points
2) I will then run all the cars for a 3 minute heat and the cars will get points 20, 19, 18, 17.....down to the last car and based on the finishing order.
3) I will then score each car either a 3, 2 or 1 - based on my personal impression of the car's performance on my track. 3 for a great car, 2 for a good car and 1 for an nice car. (to be clear, multiple cars can score the same mark - it will be at my discretion and a subjective impression of the entry).
The points will then be added and the top placings will go into the race. I am hopeful to provide video and comments of this event, stay tuned for details.
