The Ford vs. Ferrari Proxy has to be one of the longest running proxies on record. We started in March, 2020 and finished up in March 2021.
Of all the proxies running last year, this was the one that launched right into the teeth of the COVID-190 pandemic and the result of that timing was a series of stops and starts as track hosts scrambled to find ways to deal with their commitments to run a Round for us. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our hosts - you guys made it happen - and in the end, we all had fun racing our 1966 Le Mans model cars against each other. Henry against Enzo - just like it was almost 55 years ago now.
And - when the smoke cleared and the viruses were successfully dealt with - history did not repeat itself! The little custom shop from Maranello, Italy came out ahead of the legion from Detroit - but not by much..............
We had prizes donated for this proxy by Slot Car Corner and Home Racing World and the last of them just arrived today. From SCC we got the Slot.It #5 Ford GT40 and the #21 Policar Ferrari 330/P3 and from Home Racing World we got the Scalextric #9 Ferrari 412P.
Here's a pic of your final series podium:

And the prizes behind them:
To the #21 car goes the Scaley #9 Ferrari 412P, to the #33 car (BrumosRSR) goes the Slot.It #5 Ford GT40 and to #38 car (dungeonracer) goes the Policar Ferrari 330P3

And for everyone that raced in this series, your host and Slot Car Corner teamed up to provide each of you with some new, or at least additional, horsepower options for your next build - one of the new Predator 22,500 rpm ball bearing motors - very appropriate for this particular proxy, which had a 23,000 rpm motor limit. So, enjoy them - everyone certainly earned them over the past 12 months!

A big thanks, again, to our sponsors - Slot Car Corner and Home Racing World - to our track hosts and to all of the racers who participated!
I'll be shipping your cars back to you starting this week - don't forget to look inside your box for the new Predator 22,500 motor.
Until next time..........
