We got the qualifying runs done this afternoon. The General chased down the cars, Sandy ran the computer and entered the results and I drove the cars. Prior to qualifying in the white lane the track was run in with a mule car and each car was run for a couple of minutes to be sure it was OK.

We are hoping to get the race done on Wednesday evening.

Wow Wow Wow. Thanks Rich for getting the pony to the front, wobbly guide and all. That was the verdict at the last track. Wonder how my chassis engineer missed that? Congratulations to Dungeonracer and Brumos. I see Allan's pony wasn't far behind. Steve good to see you in the top five and Dale 1/10 off the pace. History tells me that with the guide issue the car will not be a winner. Just hope it places well.

Thanks Dickie but the proof is in the racing. The chassis engineer goofed on the guide so I am hearing.

Close, less than .8 seconds from first to last.

Yeah but .8 sec would be about a four/fifths a lap down.

20th in qualifying! Yikes! Would anybody mind if I take a quick pit stop for a new motor?! 😐 That 18k must have been painful to drive on that beautiful track.

The #53 Ferrari was fast, but it wanted to deslot in the middle of the turns. At first I thought that was happening because the front end was too light, but when I examined the car I discovered the loose guide flag. During the race if a driver was aware of that problem he might take it easy in the corners and avoid a deslot that could cause the loss of as much as half a lap, but then the car would never turn the best lap times.
I was thinking that it might be a good idea to bring the sheet with the comments along to the race. What do you guys think?

Yes Rich, That maybe would be a good idea. I would think that most of the hosts have that sheet at there track already.

Ok, I just put the sheet in the bag with my controller. I found that the only setting that I needed to change on my controller was the brake setting. With a few of the cars the brakes needed to be turned almost all the way off and one car at least needed nearly full brakes.

Rich I sent you a PM. The guide. Is it against the rules to see if the screw is still in it? I put a SlotingPlus guide in the car I have here at home and it is tight. Not sure what's up with the guide in the #53. Maybe I cut the stalk to short and its wobbling.

You can check to see if the guide screw on the #53 car is loose or missing. If the screw is missing, then the guide should pull down from the chassis, even with the wires attached.

If need be I can send a new guide to the next location if that is allowed.

Lanes 1, 2 and three were used, the heats were 2 minutes each. The drivers stayed with their lanes and only the cars rotated. Bob Bradley, Dick McManus and I did the driving, The General ran the computer and Sandy recorded the results.

Thanks Rich, Bob, Dick and the General. Glad you were able to drive the #53 to a 2nd place finish wobbly guide and all. Congratulations to Robert on the win and Bigduhg on his third place finish. I guess Robert found some grip somewhere. Glad to finally break through for a podium finish. Thanks again to all.
