  • ********Race #3 DoubleB*********

Alright guys, I have received confirmation that DoubleB has the cars. It is my understanding he is going to attempt to qualify them this Sunday, and race them next week!

Let make sure and thank him for taking on this round with short notice!

I will let him take it from here, I believe the track is still a mystery.

Thanks for setting up a thread for the race Zack - you are a busy guy!

In order to run the round as quickly as possible we let the delivery of the cars dictate what track to use. We typically follow a Sunday Qualifying and Wednesday race schedule and that is our intention with this group of cars as well. We have 3 tracks in the current rotation and we have hosted proxies at all three of the tracks. So the F1 proxy will be run at Snipsic Raceway which is 101 Corvette's track in Ellington, CT. Last year we ran Austin's Race Across America with the Carrera cars in Round 2.

I'm happy to report that the cars look good and Allan's modification to the container sleeves worked perfectly so the tape prevented the braids from getting snagged on the foam and getting all distorted - they all looked fine. We fully expect to get the qualifying done Sunday night even though there is some potential weather headding this way - if we have to, we'll adjust the date to make it happen.

I'll post photos of the track once I get on my other laptop - just wanted to put some information out there for now...

There were 3 cars experiencing some problems.

The car for Mitch had tons of tire dust on chassis and body.

This is only round 3 of the proxy so it caused suspicion that something might be a bit wonky with the tires. They looked like they had been trued so I looked at it closer and noticed the movement of the sidewalls. Hopefully you can see the video below.

Man, you guys are quick. Yes I'm trying to detail the 3 issues with the cars so bear with me. I'm also watching the end of the IMSA Daytona race so I'm a bit slower than usual.

Court - yes the guide is very deep.

                          http://

The qualifying is done in the middle lanes so we posted times for your car. but the red lane has one very tight turn and a guide of this length will not go through it - It just get's wedged in the slot. Just to give you a sense, a Slot.it CH07 deep wood guide goes through ok, and a Carrera Red Guide blade will go through ok, but a Carrera Black guide blade will NOT go through.

We can run the other 3 lanes but cannot run the red lane because it just won't complete even one lap. Not sure what to do. Score the laps completed I guess. Zack, do you have any thoughts. In a previous proxy they were throwing away the worst round for each participant.

BARC's car is the third car with an issue. The motor cuts out when you go around a left turn. Photo shows how much you can slide out before the motor cuts out... (look at the tail light relative to the slot)

                            http://

Not much at all. Turning/sliding the other direction is ok.

I tried checking the screws you have holding the motor wires into the braids in the guide, but it did nothing. I suspect a broken wire. I don't think this is something I'm supposed to fix. Let me know Zack if you don't mind what I should do relative to this issue. I think it effectively knocks this car out of the round if it isn't taken care of.
