The #9 WC car started to smoke as soon as we ran it. I sprayed out the motor with contact cleaner and Bob loosened up the rear axle a little and everything was fine after that.
Bob qualified the COTs and Ray qualified the CWs on the orange lane.

Thanks Rich, Ray and Bob for the qualifying and getting Team Martin up front in both classes. Congratulations to the other Qualifying Podium cars. The WC Class looks mighty tight from 5th-12th. Looking forward to race day.
I see we have two Fords up front in WC this time. Round 1 was a all Chevy top 3 in qualifying.
I'm beginning to think I should have went with the wider YDs on the #12. Stuck with the stock axles on it's first time out. Hope this doesn't bite me in the buttLast edited by arroldn; July 3, 2020, 03:05 PM.Arrold Martin

Thank you Rich, Bob and Ray for the qualifying. Great coverage and photos as always!
Congrats Arroldn on making the podium in both classes and to the others that find themselves at the top.
Very surprised to see the #90 where it is after a disappointing showing in race #1. However, the notes don't bode well for a similar race performance.

Cory when Harry compared the Ford and Chevy he stated the Ford had a little better handling advantage. I order 2 last week. Are you kidding me a FordI plan to rebrand it as a #7 Kyle Petty 7 eleven car if the #7 isn't claimed next year. UM I see Steve has the #7 this year. I'll have to give a PM before the start of 2021 season. Who knows may just go all out on the #42 and see if it improves.

The #90 car was powerful and had good grip, it did crash a couple of times during qualifying. The drivers for the race will all be members of the Slot Car Corner team and are very experienced. I will have the notes on the cars handy so everyone should be able to set their controllers before the green flag waves.
A lot of the cars were loose. We normally run on silicone tires, but the track was conditioned for urethane tires before the qualifying started.

OK did a little research from race 1. 16 cars in WC Class. 5 Fords and 11 Chevys. Top 5 1 Ford. Top 10 2 Fords. First round Fords #6 and #90 finished 14th and 16th. This round they are on the pole #90 and 2nd #6. This is looking interesting. 2 Fords and 1 Chevy in the top 3. 4 Fords in the top 10 in qualifying. Lets see how the race finishes next week.Arrold Martin

The 2 tracks have different surfaces. Ivoryton Raceway is plastic. I ran about 1000 laps on each lane with urethane. The #6 was set up at this track just for ovals. That's Proxy racing.Robert- Shoreline Model Raceways Club
