  • 2019 season update

Hello all. Cars are on the way to Australia and Rossko should be expecting them. I apologize for the delay, and I have had the cars for the mid season checkup, and did not get that complete in a timely manner. Life had gotten a little busy as well as work. This delay is solely my responsibility. I appreciate all of our racers and hosts, you guys make this series what it is.

Thanks for the update Scott. Now that we are getting close to the end of the season, And it looks like we may run a little later. Can we start planning for next years COY class? What dose everyone think the rules should be? Please post what you would like to see for the rules in the COY class next season. REL13

Hoping for similar rules but base them on the new Monte and T-birds. I just posted some cars I painted up in the 1/32 forum for inspiration.

That would be fine, But the front may not hold up. That little hoop looks weak and with all the different driver. What about Rims and Tires? REL13

Not saying that wouldn't work but it does not comply with the founder's (Bruce, the DaVols originator) desire to create a proxy based on a builders tuning ability. And continuing the traditions of the proxy with updates to the rules to maintain interest and keep the cars current is really what DaVols is all about. So, I would be for the current COY rules applied to the Monte Carlo and Thunderbird Scalextric cars if the decision is to make the change for 2020. The only major rules change should be to allow Slot Car Corner adjustable front axle blocks so we dont have to rely on the weak stock axle loops.

I agree with GTO King. The SCC front block is good but may not be necessary if other creative supporting measures can be used buy the builders

Good point Dale. The front axle loops can be strengthened with styrene and an axle housing could also be glued in place, pending approval in the 2020 rules. Whatever is decided, I think a change to the new models in place of the current COY cars will bring new excitement to the proxy, especially to the old timers like myself.

I think these cars will be fun to run, and they look good going around the track. I would like to see us run the same tires and rims as we are now, and use the SCC front blocks. REL13

I'll be having a go at it no matter what rules are in place, I will try and convince a couple of other club members to have a crack it too
