  • Just past the halfway point

Hi all, just an update here between Rounds 6 & 7. I have received the cars (only took 7 working days!) and taken a look at Aloha's & SR Hawaii's cars as there was talk about front axle issues during Round #6. Aloha's front wheels spin freely and there is no up down or sideways slop plus the front wheels just touch the tuning block. SR Hawaii's car is the opposite, the front wheels do not turn plus the front axle is in a high upper position where the wheels are about a 1/16" of an inch above the block. I have an PM out to SR Hawaii verifying I will loosen the front wheels plus I would like to make sure how firm he wants the front wheels touching the setup block.

I went to test Aloha's car afterwards and I noticed his tires had some fibers on them (the entire circumference). I checked a few other random cars and some cars had the same fibers and some did not. Cleaning Aloha's tires with good 3M Masking tape got the tires clean. I will clean everyone's tires the same equal way so all is equal and will give the cars a quick 1 or 2 lap test to make sure all is well compared to how I remember Round 0 occurred. Nothing else will be done to the cars other than a sticky tape tire clean and quick test as I await word from SR Hawaii.

My time is limited this month so I hope I can send the box to Tom in Calgary today or tomorrow once I receive word from SR Hawaii. For the sake of time and to avoid delays if I do not hear back from SR Hawaii I will go ahead and adjust the front axle so the front wheels are just touching the block and turn freely. The box will then be mailed promptly to Tom. My goal is tomorrow Thursday latest.

    Thanks guys
    Rob

Thank you for the attention in this matter for Takeshita and my cars. Actually this check at the half way point is a positive for all of us. Thank you for the time spent to do this.

Any chance those cars made stop at oak island? I hear there is major coconut fiber problem there. If so that's were those fibers Might of came from....

The last 36 hours between painting, installing decals, clear coating and assembling a Slot.it Porsche body....the box of GT3 cars made a quick turnaround and are now in the mail for the short trip to Calgary. Tom “GIddyup” should receive the cars next week.
