    Gentlemen,

You cars are "on the track" at The RiverRun!

The box showed up in today's mail and looks to be intact from the outside. I'll open it up this weekend and take a thorough look at all the cars. Right now, we plan on running the qualy sometime mid-next week and the race on the 20th or 21st, so stay tuned for updates after the weekend.

Yes, we have a special section of that River that attracts any car with the number "7" emblazoned on it!

I took a look at the cars in the top layer of foam today and I didn't get past the very first one before finding a potential problem.

This relates to Leon’s (Heli_CA) car and it’s not a big point, but I suspect that it may affect performance.

I would say the car probably made contact with another car or a piece of track diorama or other object and in the process the left side body jumped above the chassis.

I’ll wait to hear from Rob on how to proceed with this mishap and from Leon as to how he’d like it handled.

Hi Allan, I think you can just spread the body slightly so that the tab rests on the inside of chassis. I assuming nothing is broken inside like the posts.

That must have happened in shipping. The car was in good shape when it left here.

Allan this happened at Rob’s shakedown round, the body just needs to be spread to put the tab above the chassis , please do not take body mounting screws off.

On the body I glued on a piece of plastic to try to prevent the chassis from jumping inside of body, obviously the plastic add-on is not wide enough.

Yes just like Leon said. Spread the body just enough so the tab goes back above the chassis. I saw it before too.

Thanks Allan for looking the cars over.

OK, I'll spread the body, put the tab back under the chassis and will not touch the body mounting screws.

A quick repair was completed on the #68 car, the body tab is back on top of the chassis and the stance at the rear looks level again.

All other cars looked to be in good shape, with the exception of the braids on a few of the cars. We’ll straighten those braids prior to the start of the qualy for Round #5.

....I would say that it might have "kissed" a wall or two............ But, many of the other cars also have slightly angled wings; with the large wings on these GT3 cars and offs on the track and 4 Rounds now completed, I think we all have to expect that. I could add some weight to the left side of the wing to try to bring it back down to level, if you'd like................... Let me know on that, OK?

Allan, you always go above an beyond, i know Leon is shy and don't want to be a bother, so I will speak for him, please add the weight, it also looks like the tyres are showing signs of wear, Scalextric rubber fits those wheels very nicely and will provide "similar" performance, can you perhaps swap them out as well? Come to think of it, those Slot.It motors can be somewhat hit and miss, do you perhaps have a blue H&R 18k? The blue will match the Olifer chassis and those motors are very smooth! Just showing a fellow team mate some love on Valentines day!

Thank you all for the kind offers! But looking back at my old pics of the wing, it looks like that was the way it was all along! So against my better judgement I’m not gonna take you guys up on that offer of weight. Um, unfortunately I crazy glued the motor in, so motor replacement is out of the question! And on the tires, it sounds tempting but my tire sponsor NSR is not gonna like it! LOL! Wink Wink!

Gentlemen - we have a schedule.

Qualy on Thursday afternoon, EST - Matt from Changing.Gearz (CG Slotcars) will be doing the honors. Results will be posted Thursday night and I'll see if we can stream the qualy on FB Live to my site: "The River Run" - if we stream it, it will start around 1:30PM EST.

Race on Saturday morning, EST with the usual Changing.Gearz crew and Bob Bianchi from Slot Car Corner. Results will be posted Saturday night (how's that for dedication...?) and I also plan to stream this to my FB Live site starting around 10:30AM EST.

Good luck to everyone in Round #5!

Just so everyone knows, I have withdrawn my #44 entry. It was returned to me after the last round to replace the split tires, in an effort to fix the chatter that had been reported since the first round. However, after changing the tires like for like, the chatter was still there.

It took me so much work to get rid of the problem that I don't feel it is fair to send the car back now to complete against all your cars that have not had that opportunity for extra work.

As it turned out, the major source of the chatter was the front wheels, not the rears at all, and that's why I feel it's not fair.

Good luck to all of you in the rest of the series, I hope to be back stronger next time!

I have no dog in the fight , but maybe run it has normal if there is a big improvement in finishing order from what the car has been finishing then take the average finishing and subtract that from the order. and then following round score as normal.. hell just missing these round should be enough of a punishment, hate to see all that hard work go to waist Dennis

I must agree with everyone. I also look at your builds as a benchmark. Class act in saying it wasn't the rear but the front and you had to do more than just change the tire.

I have to say this is a a big let down for the series, as you are a great builder and competitor , I always look forward to your builds and being able to compete against you as your cars are benchmarks for how my cars should perform.
                But I do understand.

Thanks for the kind words! You won't be seeing a WC car from me though. I have very little interest in proxies where I can't scratch build.

They’re all lined up and ready for tomorrow’s qualy session. We’ll be running them in reverse standings order; bottom left to upper right.

Two points up for grabs; who’ll be the quickest on this technical track?

                Good luck to everyone!
