It's looking like qualifying at SlotZuka will happen next week when Modernslots gets back in town. SlotZuka is a high-speed track with lots of tight, challenging bits. Here are a few pics....

That does look like a fast track, with a couple of wrinkles. The taller geared cars should do well here; if they can handle the wrinkles....

Yes, those cars turning high rpms at the rear wheels should do well here - provided they have good brakes. There are several tight corners that will benefit cars that can brake late and accelerate early and punish those that can't.

The current plan is for Rob and I to qualify the cars this Thursday evening, January 28th and SCANC will race the cars the following Thursday evening, February 4th. There will be a live feed of the race on the Slot Car Addicts of NC Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Slot-Car-Ad...00641915127083. The race will start between 6:30 - 7:00 pm.

Round 4 qualifying is in the books.

I qualified the cars and Rob recorded the lap times and my comments. I ran each car 12 laps. The first two laps I took it easy dialing in my controller when necessary. And it was most often necessary as many of these cars have different performance characteristics.

I'm shooting for a race date of Thursday, February 4th depending upon the availability of drivers. Covid is making things a little difficult, but it looks like we will have four drivers at least. Not sure if I can get additional bodies to marshal.

Congratulations to the top qualifiers and especially to Aloha Dale who took pole! Dale's car drove very well for me in racing at Woodland Trace, but after the results were tallied I was never the less pleasantly surprised to see him beat out some very quick cars to take the pole.

The median times are very close with many cars just 1/100th of a second apart. It should be a good race. Good luck to everyone next week!

Congratulations to the top Round #4 qualifier Aloha!! You have a great car Dale, that car is fast and handles very well. I remember being very impressed. Tight groupings as I look at the list in regards to fastest times and median times, going to be a great GT3 race!
