Having requested and received a file for printing, I was immediately reminded of a video I had seen literally hours prior to receiving the files. I have a feeling there are other files that would benefit from some of these tricks....

Very helpful post. I have Windows 10 and Meshmixer and will definitely be getting the other.
I have tried the remesh function, but didn't like the results so this is pretty helpful.
Although I will say that TinkerCAD allows the embossing function as well...Come Race at The Trace!

MeshLab was the one that was news to me, and I played with it. The "smooth" file that Steve sent me was clearly smoothed using the feature Angus talked about in MeshLab.Comment

MS 3D builder has a smooth function as well, and it seems to have done an Ok job. The other software I donβt have loaded.........yet.Cheers

I've found that 3d builder myself, I smothered out the Alva, and have been able to simplify a file that had to much memory and wouldn't print ! I'll be able to make good use of this!Comment
