  • Chassis pod tape and 3D printed chassis...

The electrical tape I usually use doesn't stick so well to 3d print chassis... What sticks to 3d printed chassis the best?

    Cheers

If you are printing ABS ,the only thing that has worked for me so far is hair spray.I have tried Kapton tape,Blue tape with poor results. One thing still to try is ABS juice (ABS molten in acetone). Also increase the first layer thickness and decrease printing speed

I'm interested in this question too. Tape peeling on 3D chassis is common for me as the printed chassis are textured slightly.

I think he's referring to the car not the printer bed.

It depends a bit on the chassis material. PLA/ABS are one thing.....nylon is different, and PETG perhaps as well. Texturing on the bottom depends on the plate and the initial layer height. If set right, they have very little texture at all. If set high, you will definitely see the lines of the initial layer.
So the tape / chassis interface is different, and electrical tape probably won't grab well. The more agressive adhesive of the packing tape might, provided the strands run the direction you desire.....

Ignoring the filament type used, electrical tape is a waste of time, it doesn't stick to anything, most of those 'in the know' use filament tape, the clear stuff with reinforcing strands in, I use that for holding bodyshells on but for chassis damping Duct tape type tape seems best...the cheap thin stuff.
