  • Round #10 Trans Am @ Bent Tree Raceway, Winston Salem, NC

    Well fellas,

Round 10 qualifying is in the books and here are the results. Congratulations to the top finishers. There are several cars that are in contention for a podium finish, but one car is in a class by itself. Audi 1's Camaro took pole position a good quarter second faster than the 2nd place qualifier. Congratulations Allan! Very well done!

If all goes as planned, we should be conducting the race this Thursday evening, January 9th. Good luck to all!

    Cheers,

    Steve

Thank you for qualifying. Congratulations Audi 1, Redlyner and Raderek on your qualifying podiums. Looks like it's anyone's race 2nd-9th.

There a big difference between qualy and racing - IMO, it's anyone's race 1st-9th. Allan

Steve, thanks for the update and comments. I've got to get that chassis worked on before I release it to a proxy again. Next year may be the #42 on a stock chassis or the 89 and a 3D chassis. All three Cudas ran almost exactly the same time in 60 laps. The 48 just ran 60 laps 2 secs quicker with new tires. 2020 will tell which fish gets sent in.

          Allan,
I'll need more than luck a miracle maybe

Is Steve allowed to tighten the rear screw or does that incur a penalty?

Sounds like the Firebird is in need of some repairs, You can push it as hard as you can. There is a new body still in the box.

Checking with Audi1 about this. I think it’s ok, but am waiting on the official answer.

Arroldn, I got the ok from Audi1 to adjust the body screws on your car. No penalty. We will do that before the start of the race tomorrow night.

Photos of all SCANC tracks are in the Club Connection Forum here: https://www.hrwforum.com/forum/hrw-a...north-carolina.

But here is a quick photo of Bent Tree Raceway for those of you who may not have seen photos of this track before.

This track has a 90' lap length, constructed of 3/4" mdf, CNC routed with 4" lane spacing, latex surface, and braided pick ups. We run a Pyramid power supply at 10v.

Round 10 Race is scheduled to happen tonight.

Round 10 is in the books, and as often goes in racing the race results vary quite a bit from the qualifying results.

As expected, Audi1's superb Scalextric '70 Camaro took the checkers finishing more than two laps ahead of the second place car.

The second place car surprised us all, as it was our own Mseitz and his #22 Pioneer Mustang who worked his way up the field from the #8 grid position to finish 2nd.

And Radarek was only 3 tenths of a lap back in his #11 Camaro.

Also of note is BrumosRSR's silver Camaro which moved up 9 spots from his 17th place qualifying position to finish a very respectable 8th place.

                        Fast laps in all four lanes were placed by Audi1 - Red 8.654 - White 8.524 - Blue 8.560 - Yellow 8.688

Congratulations to all on podium for a job well done!

It was a fun race and it was an honor and a pleasure to drive your cars, so a big thank you to all the entrants, drivers, marshals, hosts and organizers of this event.

Congratulations Allan, Mseitz and Radarek on your podiums. Steve thank you and your team for the timely running of the final round on short notice. Congratulations to the builders who finished the season where or better than expected. To those who didn't, get your 2.0U ready and there's time
to work on that pony car.
