  • 48 Chevy Sportsman

I thought I had my Showdown sportsman entry nailed down with the Nova, but I started toying with a Chevy Fleetline yesterday
& now I'm not sure this won't wind up as my entry from this year's Showdown......Everything is falling into place soooo easily...

442.........."Hey Brew that’s not a Lindbergh body is it ?"

No sir, It comes from a mold I made some time back from a die-cast car.

Yeah, it's too bad those Lindbergs were so badly out of scale. They had some models that would have made great Showdown cars and beach racers.

This has to be the simplest chassis I've built since I was a kid. A couple 3/64 brass rods, 2 rear bearings, square tube front axle,
Cox gears & Piranha motor tacked in place by a couple dabs of solder.
Pro-Track wheels with PG tires, Parma guide with Big Mama braid.
...............Fast & Light, 'cuz the body might be a bit heavier than some?...........

Resin cast from a die-cast. Painted with Ace Hardware red primer followed by Dark Red Rustoleum, followed by
Dupli-color Clear Effex (for the metal flake treatment), followed by 2 coats of Ace Hardware clear.........WHEW!!
Home printed stickers on white self adhesive vinyl.....(Thanks to "the General")............Brew
