This is our Scalextric track my boys and I race on when I can get them to put their video platforms down. It's about 30 feet long and each lane is powered independently with an old Tech II dual power 2800 model train transformer. I recently added Professor Motor controllers.Scott C.

Looks pretty cool to me. The best track is the track you have. Nothing wrong with that one at all. Powering each lane independently is smart.Come Race at The Trace!

OK maybe a little better, except for that last pic that got enlarged upon uploading and is now horribly out of focus.
And some news on the track. I'm upgrading it by adding on a 3x4 section on the left back corner, and oh ya, going digital with my Scalextric Platinum Pro set I bought this month.

Very nice! Might I suggest as long as you're extending to just extend it so table maintains full width? This way if you change your mind on the layout you'll not need to add on again...ask me how I know lol. BTW a great space saver I just did to my track is cutting the corners off round to the outer diameter of the smallest radius turn (with the outer shoulder attached), love how my first cut corner turned out and really makes it roomier in garage around my track!

My two boys (14 and 9) had a great time during our first practice laps. They really liked racing with the lights out too, now that we have cars with working headlights and taillights for the first time.
I need to get a computer hooked up so I can run a large enough monitor that will mount on the back wall. Any suggestions would be welcome.Scott C.

I have multiple slightly older computers that are running the current version of Windows (Windows 10) that I got at the mom & pop computer store down the street for a very reasonable price. I think I paid $125 for the HP computer I'm on now. The guy buys computers for parts and always has a small inventory of very functional and reasonably priced ones for sale. Plus, I get great customer service and always have a place to go for assistance.
As for a monitor I have 2 Sanyo 32" flat screen TV's I got at Walmart for around $100 each. A few weeks back I saw a 32" TV for sale behind the counter for $88, it was a display model in an open box. You may need a connector to send audio and video from computer to TV through an HDMI cable but it's basic plug-n-play and works great. Once again, figured this out from chatting with my computer shop guy.
