  • Farrout Raceway. Home of Farrout Slot Car Club in Los Angeles

Hi folks. So I have been hiding a bit. Sorta intimidated by your tracks and skills.

Here is a starter pack of my track which is the core of the club, since I made the club to have peeps to race with.

Not sure why you would be intimidated that looks excellent
I would be intimidated to run it hard for fear of landscaping damage

            You, intimidated?

Absolutely not, your track and slot cave are fabulous! I actually like the twisty track forcing you to drive the car......great layout!

Track is actually a combination of nice corners I liked racing on when creating temporary plastic tracks

So today I decided to redo the Italian Village buildings on my track. All 1:32 from pro series hobbies in thin laser cut MDF.

I redid them by grouting the outsides to look like rough stucco (think Targa Florio, added windo details and. More balustrades to balcony’s as well as some shutters, all to make what can look like identikit buildings somewhat different

Basically grout, mixing the two colors to get a sense of repairs and additions an d then dry brush white to bring out the highlights.

Then I attacked the. Roof’s This is the plastic terracotta sheets attached to the supplied MDF roof. Ones at back are untouch. Then a little dry brushing as we move to front of photo

then I had to try to make it look like this from my ginormous targa florio book

which lead to a lot of fiddling, washes, grime, coarse flocking in a earth/green color and some teeny tiny pebbles. For the rocks around the edges and the crown of the roof I took some white talus and applied varied washes. Not too shabby.

Here is the pre photo on the track. Look closely for changes to windows, balconies, shutters plus paint of same plus more highlighted stucco then before all to de-homogenize them
