Up and coming T.R. Raceway

Greetings!
My 4th raceway! 4 because the last three were unfortunately destroyed because I had to move and couldn't move them with us.
Now in my 4-ever home here in Toms River Nj (hence the name).
It is a 4X8 mini hill climb, 7" or more at the highest point, I guess what ever the MDF will allow before cracking. This time around I used 1/2" mdf hoping that I can stretch it up higher with out breakage, I will soon find out today. On with the build!

When I built my track I relief cut the back of the MDF to allow for some extreme short length elevation changes. You can see in the picture the relief cuts to achieve the elevation changes. I did this in three areas, some were cut in a pie shape to allow the curve to stay flat.

Brad if you look at the second pic you see the small holes? That is where it cracks, that is why I drilled the holes. I learned that from the first one I built.

Nice looking job. That's a fast design. All tracks are fun, do this one certainly will be.
gotta do a lap with a 9v battery touching the tape just to make sure everything works before wiring it all up.

Dave This is my 4th track! I have not had the chance to take photos! Wiring is done cars run like raped apes as usual! Trying to get video but the cars go by to FAST!!!! Trying to set the phone up on slo mo to get a feeling of the track !

First update is the guard rails and some scenery...

And starting work on landscaping . . .

So far so good I'm using 1" insulation foam board.

Got a wild hair AHEM Got bored real fast so I am moving my track to the other side of the living room but while moving the track T.R.Raceway was in the way of a hurricane followed by an earthquake! So I am starting over with a 4X16 Lay out, Going to copy a track I built in 2004. Got water damaged in Hawaii when we were there. So here goes. . .
Got all the wood I needed for the new track $50 a sheet for 1/2" MDF! $30 for the under layment that the finished track will be put on. some 2X4 and 2X6's $250.00 later But who can put a price on fun and creativity??
