Finished up the Kovaleski McLaren except for adding the round vent holes at the base of the spoiler. I want them flat black so they needed to be done after the clear coat. Pictured next to the slot.it RTR 8D. Not for the scale reproduction rivet counters, but a neat looking car good for starting conversations about Oscar, Auto World, Can-Am privateers running last year’s hot cars, etc. Pretty quick, too, with only a wood guide, front wheels ride height adjustment, Quick Slicks and a little lead. Lap record is 3.896 by a slot.it Porsche 917 with a ball bearing SW pod and NSR 25K Shark motor.
I have an extra page of the Pattos decals if anyone is interested - drop me a PM.Last edited by Mickey thumbs; July 27, 2022, 02:24 PM.Mike V.

Mike, that's a good job with the decals. It's hard to do decals that big. Are they water slide or clear vinyl?Matt B

Waterslide. The track came in four sections; front and back “U’s” and two side straights. As usual the hardest part is getting them to conform to the louvres and vents. Still getting the hang of using MicroSol. MicroSet helps with the basic curves. Pattos advises against using such products but I have not run into any problems since he switched to the new ink.Last edited by Mickey thumbs; July 28, 2022, 10:44 AM.

Really beautiful job on that car. It sure brings back memories.
Oscar kept calling it "the Polish Racing Team". I was young and kinda bookish, and someone had to explain the connection to Polish jokes and all that. I actually didn't know what he was talking about. Was I ever that young?
