  • Cheetah repaint

I painted this Cheetah back when I was a kid. Since I have recently gotten back into building models, I think my painting skills have improved somewhat. So... I decided this car deserves a redo. I had to fab the missing side pipes from some cut down 1/25 scale parts. The head lights are Bondic.

Yup !!.....the wheels and inserts ("American Mags" ) are/were from BWA. While BWA is no longer, both the wheels and inserts are currently available from RSSlotracing. I should mention that the wheels are for 3/32 axles, which means that (if you wanted to switch), you would have to swap out your 1/8 axles/gears, and add 3/32 bushings to your current Cheetah chassis.

I used Tamiya Maroon rattle can with Tamiya clear gloss as a top coat.

Please post more pics., when you finish your "Cat"

              Cheers

A Cheetah-fest! One of my favorite bodies.

The following three are all resin copies of the Strombrecker version.

Here's my favorite. An original used Cox body in molded black bought at a hobby store closing-out sale. The modelling is terrific with the details and shape. The 1/24 version must be even more impressive.

All these cars are extremely well done, but the look of this one is really special in my book. Very striking paint and sponsor layout.

That is gorgeous, is it a Cox body?
