  • Hunting for ferrite men

Hey guys, I'm looking for a source for ferrite man components. Actually for the black ferrous chokes that are used to make up the "pants" of the ferrite man. Does anyone have a supplier reference and part number?
I what to add some slot.it digital chips to my group 5 cars, but need two ferrite men per car to protect the chips.

If you don't have a local electronics shop and aren't averse to buying from China, it appears that the ubiquitous auction site has some that might work; search "Ferrite Cores Bead EMI Filter"

You'll also need the capacitors to complete the ferrite man.

Another option is to get the parts from mouser.com. These are the part numbers that I have been using to build my own ferrite men for a while now.

            Ferrite chokes-
            Mouser #: 623-2873002402
            Mfr. #:2873002402

            Desc.: Ferrite Toroids / Ferrite Rings Ferrite Toroids / Ferrite Rings 73 Multi Aperture Z = 80OHMS @ 10MHZ

            Capacitors-
            Mouser #:594-D103M29Z5UH6UJ5R

Am I the only one who immediately recalled "Pictures of Matchstick Men (1968)" by The Status Quo? Hard to believe that was considered psychedelic at the time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP6RzRfVlpA

Zippy, there was no such thing as cocktail hour back then... not that any of us would have known what time it was! At least, not until Chicago Transit Authority did "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" Then Strawberry Alarm Clock messed it all up. But Morning Has Broken, Like the First Morning after all.

waytoomuch... That was a little before I "made the scene". Glad you came through the era in flying colors, and with only an addiction for slot cars my friend.
