  • carrrera fuel consumption .

    Hi All!
i recently converted a Ninco Lambo to digital, a favorite car of one of our racers. And I was interested to see how it matched up to the Carrera Lambo.
On my Carrera digital wood track , no mags, the cars matched up pretty close. What didnt match up was fuel consumption. I use the HSSRS timing system, all the fuel settings are the same. The Ninco could go on average 10 laps farther the the Carrera Lambo.. The Ninco Lambo has the NC 6 Crusher motor in it. This is the 1st Ninco i have converted to digital. And this difference has not shown up before with other brands,, I have Slot its, Fly , Scaley, Vanquish, Pioneer,
Anyone else come across this? I wont say its a problem, in fact i think just the opposite, Another nuance that brings digital slot racing a little closer to the real thing

    I'm guessing the Ninco has a Urus engine (TT 4L V8) and the Carrera has a LP770-4 engine (6.5L V12) ???

Very interesting. Obviously the difference is the motors where the NInco needs to be on throttle less. I use several different motors in my cars and they are all different with regards to fuel but nothing this drastic.

For grins, swap the motors in the two cars.
Why doesn't my car run like that?

Can't swap the motors because the cans are different sizes. Here's your explanation: http://slotcarnews.blogspot.com/2007...otor-list.html

NEVER say can't Carlos. There's always a way.

You're right Dave, should have said "can't swap the motors easily"

Check what decoder model and revision and batch number you are running in each of the cars. Because the throttle response affected/modified v118 decoder will register less fuel used in the CU microcontroller because you use less throttle input for the same output on the decoder. I am sorry I forget the batch number of the affected units but you can check what brand of FET is used, that is the clue.

Could however just be the difference in motor as has been noted already.
