Basic Questions

I know very little about digital, so I have two basic questions. Carrera D132/124 specific answers if they may vary by brand.
1) is full voltage on the rails at all times?
2) what decides when ghost cars change lanes?

1. Yes. The controller regulates the increase/decrease in voltage to the chip in the car, instead of to the rails like analog does.
2. Ghost cars change lanes randomly with no set pattern. As to why, I have no idea. I would be interested to know as well
Maybe someone else knows the technical reason.
If you prefer them not to change lanes at all you can tape over the led sensor on the chassis.
