Had a guest this evening!
Tony Palmer aka Brumos RSR on HRW, stopped by for a nice visit and got in a few laps on WER. A pleasure to meet you Sir! For those that don’t know, Tony’s son Grant Palmer is an up and coming Indy car racer. He is competing this weekend in the Firestone Gran Prix of St. Petersburg in Florida. Grant competes in the USF 2000 series, in his rookie season. Looks like he finished 12th of 26 entrants in race 1 today, and 17th of 26 in race 2, on the lead lap in both races.

We kissed the wall in Q1 so we started 26th. In Q2 we brushed the wall slowing us down versus breaking parts this time. Both times he was on his flier and was showing pace to qualifying in the top 10. Race 1 was a drive to survive with several yellow flags, we took home the Hard Charger Award. Race 2 was a parade with just a few passes in the opening laps and we missed out on the Hard Charger Award by 2 cars.

I am horrible at driving slot cars. So it’s an open court Micheal Jordan layup for Grant to be faster than his Dad. He’s cursed with his mother’s speed so I can out run him which is hilarious
