  • Pro-X with 30352 Control Unit

    Hey Folks,

So... have an opportunity to pick up these two cars. Vette and Maserati. Appears they are old Pro-X. Assuming these are digital because of the sensor, but those dip switches are throwing me for a loop. I have had one car with this guide system and it handled absolutely horrible to the point it would tip out of the slot on most curves even at the slowest speed.

Will these run on newer lane changes and with the 30352 Control Unit? What value would you even put on these? Obviously older and and can be converted to analog. That digital chip and guide system are bothering.

    What do you all think?

I’m not a digital guy but I believe the pro x was a system all its own I’d do some research but I don’t think they’re compatible with anything else

      thanks for the reply

I do know that old pro-x lane change track is not compatible with the D132 technology. Logically, it would seem the pro-x car chips are probably not as well. But, thought I would throw this out to those that may have had some experience with the Pro-X and worked through the transition to D132.

Hi TRU, sorry no it isn't. I posted on your thread on the other forum. The hardware is compatible but the software is NOT. A D132 car will not work anywhere on a Pro-X track and vice Versa. The one exceptions being that if you use a Pro-X lane changer on a D132 track every time a car passes over the sensor it will cause the lane changer to activate. But there's no way to turn this off, so a D132 car will change lanes at EVERY Pro-X lane changer. You have to swap the Pro-X chips out for D132 chips for the cars and lane changers to work properly.

I know you're referencing how some guys use a modified pro-x chip lane changer in the pit lane to force cars to alternate lanes. That works because the Pro-X LC doesn't work properly and D132, AND has to be modified.
People don't stop playing because they get old, people get old because they stop playing.

I got a 1/2 dozen Pro-X street roadrunners that I bought at a closeout long time ago. I switched a couple to D132, gutted the spring magnet and cut back the guide flag to about DIP switches are. Work fine now.

            TRU,
Do you still have that red Carrera Digital Mustang?
These cars would run only slightly better then that one does, due to there longer wheelbase they due run a little better.
The red Mustang and those two cars (C6 Corvette and Maserati MC ) have the same type chassis ( Pro-X style).
The Pro -X Corvette and Maserati would need the same chip as your Mustang #26733, it is shaped the same as the Pro-X chip and is a direct replacement.

The #26733 installed in an old Pro-X Ferrari GTC. Click image for larger version Name:	r030.JPG Views:	1 Size:	455.9 KB ID:	96297

Sounds like you are familiar with this guide and magnet set up. I am curious... On your cars... are those to metal parallel below the magnet straight and true or is there a little bend to them?

Maybe when new they might have been straight but everyone I've dealt with has always had a bend in it. Those chassis are really bad compared to the newer stuff.

Thanks for the confirmation. Was hard for me to recall since that was a car that came in a starter set when I did not know better on how to handle the cars. My mustang was always a useless car.

Yep, always a bend to them. Not performance chassis but good enough for ghost cars

Thanks for the reply. Not for the Mustang GT... Paperweight.
